Michael Manners is the founder and principal of Limelight Learning UK who rose to the highest levels of general management through the sales and marketing route. His past employers, where he learned his craft, include some high profile blue-chip public companies such as Lloyds Bank, Smith’s Industries and Yale & Valor. Through these leaders in their field he was immersed in serious and varied business cultures and well trained in professional business practices.
He attended Ashridge Management College and became a sales manager leading a national team at the age of 26. He then went on to set up his own marketing business and later spent 22 years in general management of which 16 were as Managing Director. At one time he ranked at the top or consistently in the top 5 of some 50 sales personnel. Among his achievements he can justly claim to have taken a business from sales of £350,000 per annum to in excess of £5m.
He is a qualified practitioner in specified psychometric assessments, proud to be a Freeman of the City of Oxford and he chaired a Trade Association for three years. He is numerate and literate with a keen grasp of strategic planning, finance, sales, marketing and the management skills needed to attract, develop, retain and promote those who are going to make a difference. He also has experience of turning companies round and management buyouts. Widely travelled throughout Europe including Russia and Scandinavia, the Middle East, the Far East and the US; he spent several years living in and working from Singapore.
He has trained sales personnel from Canada, the US, Norway, and France as well as the UK and trained others in Kuwait, Bahrain, Prague, Madrid and Paris. This led to the foundation of Limelight Learning UK, which enables him to share his extensive knowledge of sales training and sales techniques that are proven to work.

Paul was a colleague of Michael's for 17 years at Thomas International, the world's largest independent provider of psychometric assessments. As a consistent top 10 sales performer, Paul was instrumental in developing many top ranking clients. His innovative use of the Personal Profile Analysis and General Intelligence Assessment is now being successfully applied to Limelight Learning's distance learning sales training programme. Paul will be utilising his well-honed communication skills to help Limelight Learning delegates to embrace the behavioural disciplines that are required for people to become successful in sales.
Paul's extensive and varied background includes 22 years as a radio sports reporter for, amongst others, Independent Radio News, London Broadcasting Company and Talk Sport. Whilst early on in his sales and marketing career, Paul spent time on the road selling for H. J. Heinz. And while with Learning International, he successfully ran a number of sales training courses for the likes of Reuters and Bausch & Lomb.
Paul's leisure interests include trekking across the beautiful English countryside, whilst overseas treks have taken in most of Europe, California, Australia, South Africa and more recently the Himalayas. Closer to home, Paul enjoys turning out for his local village cricket team in the Warwickshire League and playing golf at the many attractive courses on offer in the West Midlands.
